The brief
Interior design service to upgrade a typical Grade II listed Georgian house – four new bathrooms, colour schemes and furnishings for bedrooms, kitchen and reception rooms to accommodate a young, casual lifestyle with small children.
The project
With the roofscapes of Bristol on the one side and the open downs on the other, light pours into this town house from morning until evening. And then at night the dark sky is lit with the magical light of a city astride water and the suspension bridge spanning the Clifton gorge.
The materials
Tear sheets from Vogue provided the inspiration for the colours and materials – poppy red linen with poppy red silk, moss green faux suede and linen stitched with copper thread, silk with sculpted fur and so on. With stone slabs cut to template, basins carved and carpets woven to order, glass tiles specially designed and made, textiles old and new.
The result
A home that is calm and ordered where it should be, colourful and fun when that’s appropriate
